About
Built by an anesthesiologist, for anesthesia.
GlideHire is what happens when the people who actually work the OR build the tools they wish existed. We’re a hiring marketplace for the anesthesia workforce — anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and CAAs — and the first real-time view of what every role actually pays.
Why we built this
For 30 years, anesthesia hiring has run on a single classified-ad site that hasn’t meaningfully changed since 1996. No structured profiles. No mobile design. No applicant tracker. No messaging. Sequential URL IDs. Compensation hidden behind recruiter calls and back-channel rumor.
The anesthesia workforce is roughly 124,000 providers nationally — 67,700 CRNAs, 52,300 anesthesiologists, 4,000+ CAAs — with a projected shortfall of 12,500 anesthesiologists by 2033. The people doing this work deserve infrastructure that looks like the rest of the modern internet, and a clear-eyed answer to the question “is this offer fair?”
The two products in one
A modern Gaswork replacement. Structured job data, real clinician profiles, NPI verification, in-app messaging, mobile-first browsing, applicant tracking for the facility side. No emoji-laden “startup energy” — we built for an audience of physicians and administrators who are allergic to that.
Real-time compensation transparency. The first anesthesia-specific Glassdoor-equivalent. Metro-level granularity from two data streams: every job posted on GlideHire, plus a 13-question self-report survey. Clinicians see where they stand; facilities see what the market actually pays.
Philadelphia first
We’re launching in the Philadelphia metro for the first six months. The founder lives and practices here — relationships at multiple hospitals and ASCs provide the seed supply and demand. No anesthesia-native competitor is local. We expand to a second metro only after Philly has critical mass.
How we make money
Posting jobs on GlideHire is free. Browsing applicants is free. Messaging is free. GlideHire charges a flat per-hire placement fee — 4–5× cheaper than the typical anesthesia recruiter — and rebates a portion of every fee back to the hired clinician as a reporting bonus. Clinicians are better than free: they earn a meaningful per-hire bonus for confirming where they landed.
How we protect your privacy
These aren’t toggles you have to find. They’re how the product is built.
How we protect you
We never store where you work.
Your employer — past or present — is never stored alongside your compensation data. Reports are anonymous by construction.
Comp is shown only as anonymized aggregates of 10+ peers.
Public figures are computed from at least ten verified clinicians. Below that floor, we show nothing — never an individual number.
Your identity reaches a facility only after you both agree to interview.
Browse and message under staged privacy. Your name and contact details unlock only when you and the facility both accept an interview.
What we are not
- We are not a credentialing platform. We verify identity (NPI registry) but don’t verify licenses or hospital privileges.
- We are not a payroll platform. No employment, no W-2s, no benefits administration.
- We are not a staffing agency. We don’t source candidates, vet references, or negotiate offers. Facilities and clinicians manage their own hiring.
- We do not scrape competitor sites. Our data comes from our own posted jobs and our own self-report survey. Period.
The team
Founder is Gabe Farkas, MD — a practicing anesthesiologist in a private group covering Main Line Health hospitals and ASCs. Built scheduling and analytics tools for the group. Knows the workforce intimately: supervision ratios, call structures, partnership dynamics, PE buyouts, comp variance. The kind of product an industry outsider would get wrong in a hundred small ways.
Engineering is shipped collaboratively with Claude Code, an agentic coding tool by Anthropic. A two-person team can build what used to require ten — and we’re using that leverage to keep the product opinionated and fast-moving.
